Overview
Restylane Defyne Lidocaine is a soft-gel dermal filler based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) with added lidocaine for comfort. It is formulated to smooth deep facial wrinkles and folds, restore volume, and enhance facial contours with natural-looking results.
How It Works
The cross-linked hyaluronic acid binds and retains water, adding volume under the skin to fill deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other dynamic wrinkles. The gel structure provides support and lift while remaining flexible enough to allow natural facial expressions. Lidocaine helps reduce discomfort during the injection.
Indications / Treatment Areas
• Deep nasolabial folds (“smile lines”)
• Marionette lines (lines from corners of mouth downwards)
• Oral commissure folds
• Chin augmentation / reshaping to correct mild-to-moderate chin retrusion and improve profile
• Areas requiring restoration of lost volume and improved facial contours
Texture and Integration
The filler has a smooth, cohesive gel consistency. It is injected into the mid-to-deep dermis (or appropriate tissue layer depending on area) and integrates smoothly into surrounding tissue. The gel supports skin structure without creating stiffness, preserving natural facial movement.
Results & Duration
Results are visible immediately after injection. The smoothing of wrinkles and restoration of volume are noticeable, and the effect typically lasts 6 to 9 months, and for many patients up to 12 months, depending on skin type, area treated, and lifestyle.
Advantages
• Provides immediate visible smoothing of deep wrinkles and volume loss.
• Maintains natural facial expressions thanks to flexible gel technology.
• Comfortable treatment due to the presence of lidocaine.
• Versatile: effective for wrinkles, folds, contours, and chin shaping.
• Predictable, reliable outcomes with mid-to-long term durability.
Contraindications & Safety
Should not be used in patients with:
• Active skin infection, inflammation, or lesions at the treatment site
• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine, or any component of the filler
• History of severe allergies or anaphylaxis
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution
Must be administered by licensed and trained medical professionals experienced in dermal filler injections.
Post-Treatment Considerations
Mild and temporary reactions such as redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness may occur after injection. These usually resolve within a few days. Avoid excessive heat, saunas, and strenuous activity for the first 24 hours. Makeup may be applied once the skin has settled.
